Edit Posted by with No comments

Hmm… Let’s see…

Things that makes me happy? I guess I have a lot in mind. Because I am easily impressed and get excited along small things. I will try to choose 4 things that makes me happy.

Those are: rain, chocolate, cat and music.

Rain

Have you ever heard about “pluviophile”? The word “pluviophile” is a combination of two Latin words: “Pluvia” which means rain and “Phile”, a slang word used to describe a lover of something. The simple pluviophile meaning is: (n) a lover of rain; someone who finds joy and peace of mind during rainy days (https://pluviophile.net/pluviophile-meaning/). I always enjoy when the rain come. Listen to it’s sounds, smell the scent of it or looking at how the water touch the earth. Once when I sick and I can’t sleep, I looked for ‘nature noise’ playlist on Spotify. It has rain sound. Just by listen to that sound reduce the pain. And thanks to that sound, I can finally get my recovery sleep that I need.

Chocolate

I am a 'sweet tooth’ person. I always enjoy eating sweet treats, especially chocolate. The choco bars, cakes, candies and also chocolate drinks. Everytime I go to St*bu**s, I order their chocolate drink, because their chocolate drink have the best taste among others. I also love making (and then eating it) choco dessert box (choco pudding + chocolate flavored biscuit/cake + chocolate sauce). Scientifically speaking, eating choco bring a lot of benefits to our body. Consuming chocolate will help brain release serotonin (notes: this might happend with certain amount of choco and with the minimum 80% cocoa contain). So… There’s no doubt that chocolate can bring happiness to the person who eat it.

Cat

As a cat person, there’s no doubt that seeing cat (or play with them) can bring a lot of happiness. It’s been a while since I have a cat as pet (I’m too heartbroken b cause of the last cat I had died because of old age), but luckly one of my neighbors have half a dozen of cats in her house. They sometimes come to my house to play or just laying on the ground and fall asleep (their favorite spot are bushes in the garden in front of my house). There’s one time when this cat help me erase my stress. Beside their cute looks and behavior, cats also proven scientifically have the ability to release human stress. It is by listening to their purr, the sounds cats make when they feel comfortable enough around human.

Music

These several years, my music preference has turned from western pop to Korean ballad. I listen most to those 6 artist (Gilgu Bonggu, Mamamoo, LYn, Paul Kim, Jukjae and VIXX). It’s not just their music that brings happines to me. As an introvert person, online interaction is one way I can socialize with another human being. I am able to interact with other fans (especially international fans) of the artist I follow and making some friendship with them. That feels like having comforted by listen to the music and having conversations with another human being with same interest.

There’re also some other things that can bring happiness to me but I can’t mention them one by one (because it’s too much to mention). Writing this challenge turns out bring another happiness to me. Because I can unserstand what are things that can make me happy. It is a good thing to acknowledge what is your source of happiness. Because if the hard times hit you, you know what to do (or find) so you can bounce back and face those hard time with a smile.
